After School Program

building the mind, body, and soul of at-risk children

The Heart of Neighboring After School program is for students in 3-5th grade who qualify for the Federal free/ reduced lunch program. Students from families with means are also eligible on a fee basis.

The program runs 3:30 to 6 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the school year.

Our After School program is focused on:

  • Inspiring students to learn
  • Helping students to make smart choices
  • Giving parents peace of mind

After School works! Research shows that grades, homework completion, classroom participation, and behavior all improve in kids who participate in after school programs.

After a full day at school, some exercise will be a welcome change. Each day will start with an activity to get their bodies in motion! This, of course, will be followed by a healthy snack.

70% of people accept Christ by the age of 14. Through Bible stories, activities, and unconditional love, children will come to understand the love God has for them. They will know how special they are to God and to us too!

Through After School programs, students gain:
  • Strong social skills
  • Excitement for learning
  • Improved work habits and grades
  • Improved school day attendance
  • Higher graduation rates
  • Career path exploration and work force skills

In addition to the teacher-director, we allow the opportunity for high school and college students pursing a teaching career to participate and gain experience. These junior teachers provide tutoring, lead activities, and provide unconditional love to the students.

Supporting Tomorrow’s Workforce:
